A portfolio of work for media psychology research
James Burke (1978) believed that inescapable technologies have produced a society full of “compulsive consumers.” People are best explained by the means with which they get their information, rather than the information itself. This belief of human extension is best explained through Marshall McLuhan (2001) in the medium is the message. Partnering ideas from both Burke and McLuhan, my mantra highlights my relationship with technology. I believe that any medium can be used to fulfill identity cravings and potentially reveal new information about yourself in the process. Technology is big enough for everyone to maintain and satisfy multiple identities if necessary. So the channel that provides this extension is gateway for opportunity.
The medium is both the message and the mirror – extend and discover yourself through the opportunities waiting at your fingertips.
